Architecture en Champagne
From Chouilly, on the road to Cuis, you can see on your left the beginning of the Côte des Blancs and a curious installation: la Volupte. Its double spiral winds over the vines, recalling the shells of this cretaceous sea that offered to the ground champenois this chalk so particular. Raised on a platform overlooking the vineyards, its curves underline the landscape between the mountain of Reims and the valley of the Marne. The volute unties and undulates to form bench, bench and bar in oak tray, inviting a sweet and sparkling volupté. The light plays with the full and empty of the reused champagne desks, as well as with the transparency of unused bottles, because neither green enough nor brown enough.
The platform is supported by three reused wooden truss beams, placed on an old water tank. A spruce floor supports the spruce floor. The curved wall is composed of an alternation of oak decanting tables, bottles of champagne and posts in larch profiled hourglass. These strengthen the structure while maintaining the bottles on which runs a couvertine.
