Architecture en Champagne
The lodge sits on the land of the Lamiable winery, a family business that is very attached to the legacy left by the grandfather of the current owner. On the chosen site, there was once a rudimentary lodge. The request of the winemakers was to rebuild a lodge that would allow people to protect themselves or have a meal during the harvest, but also to welcome clients for a wine tasting in the heart of the vines.
The most stunning element of the site is the fascinating view of the valley, a view of the landscape that stretches over thirty kilometers.
This panorama chose the intention of the project, whose goal was to offer this uncommon view from the interior of the lodge. This new installation is based on the rhythm of the vines and of the wall of the former lodge, creating a wooden structure that met the requirements of the winemakers. The desire to have an opening overlooking the landscape is seen in the lights and shadows created by the roofing as well, made from repurposed materials. The roof welcomes you on one side with a vine, allowing the lodge to melt into the landscape.
The materials display a clever mix of new and reclaimed wood that allows the play of light and shadow.
