Architecture en Champagne
La Futaie is a shade structure made from repurposed materials: oak rack, barrel staves, and wooden masts provided by the Viticultural Cooperative of Nogent-l’Abbesse and installed in the vineyard. The lodge, designed and built by five participants of the workshop, consists of six posts supporting a caisson roof made of half-lapped formwork boards and covered with 24 racks. The staves were used as braces at the top of the posts, making them look like trees. This inspired the name “Futaie” for the lodge.
The lodge is equipped with a bar and a bench, allowing visitors to enjoy champagne with a view of the Château de Nogent and the Montagne de Reims.
