Architecture en Champagne
This lodge is located in Urville, in the Aube department, on the hills of the Drappier Champagne House. The site is the home of interesting views covering various landscapes: vines, fields, pastures, forests... The idea of framing these landscapes through this 21st Century lodge presented a challenge.
In the interest of reusing materials like the ones from the lodges from earlier times, a choice was made to use decommissioned racks, which was a great resource available on site. The project presents itself like a pierced monolith overlooking the Champagne landscapes. Used by the winemaker to welcome his clients as close as possible to the old pinot noir vines, this lodge can also be a rest stop for visitors.
In 2017, a swing was installed in the box, inspired by the robustness of the box and with the desire to introduce movement.
