Architecture en Champagne
Nestled into the Maison Ruinart vineyards in the commune of Taissy, the lodge "163.7" stands at the edge of the forest bordering the site. It is distinguished by its striking verticality and contrasting hues that engage in a dialogue with the surrounding woods.
Its double curvature, created by varying the height of the uprights, echoes the diverse sizes of neighboring trees and accentuates the structure’s slender profile.
The design draws inspiration from the concept of a cocoon, a form found in many natural elements such as nests or leaves.
Reclaimed materials, specifically vine stakes, evoke the world of winemaking and the Champagne landscape; they allow the structure to blend seamlessly into its surroundings while framing views of the site’s most remarkable features.
Finally, the integrated seating and high shelf provide a perfect spot to pause, whether for contemplating the landscape or enjoying a glass of champagne.
